Platform terms & acceptable use
MY DOCTOR TZ — rules for using our website and client features.
Last updated: 24 April 2026
These terms (“Agreement”) govern your use of the MY DOCTOR TZ website and client portal features. By creating an account or continuing to use the service after we show you this Agreement, you agree to these terms together with our Privacy notice.
1. The service
MY DOCTOR TZ provides health information, education content, and digital tools that may facilitate communication or coordination related to healthcare services offered by independent professionals or partner organisations. The platform itself does not replace emergency services, in-person diagnosis where required, or professional medical judgment.
2. Eligibility & accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these terms, security risk, or legal obligation.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to: misuse or attempt to bypass security; scrape or overload systems; upload malware; harass others; submit false clinical information; impersonate another person; or use the service for unlawful discrimination or exploitation. Health data you enter must relate to you or to dependents for whom you have lawful authority to act.
4. Clinical & professional responsibility
Licensed or registered professionals remain responsible for their own clinical decisions and compliance with their regulators. Clients remain responsible for the accuracy of information they supply and for seeking urgent or emergency care when needed.
5. Privacy & confidentiality
Processing of personal data is described in our Privacy notice. You must respect the confidentiality of others’ information you may see through authorised workflows (for example as staff). Unauthorised disclosure may violate law and this Agreement.
6. Telemedicine & electronic communications
Where you consent to remote consultation features, you acknowledge inherent limitations (e.g. inability to perform physical examination) and agree to follow reasonable instructions from your clinician. Electronic communications may not be appropriate for all conditions.
7. Intellectual property
Content, branding, and software on the platform are owned by MY DOCTOR TZ or licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or remove proprietary notices except as allowed by law.
8. Disclaimers
The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Educational materials are informational and not a substitute for personalised medical advice.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law in Tanzania and other relevant jurisdictions, MY DOCTOR TZ and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from use of the platform, except where liability cannot be excluded by law (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable).
10. Governing law & disputes
Unless mandatory consumer rules provide otherwise, this Agreement is governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Courts in Tanzania shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to rights you may have under the PDPA or other statutes.
11. Changes
We may amend these terms. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes (for example by banner, email, or re-acceptance in the client profile flow). Continued use after the effective date may constitute acceptance where law allows.
